Cactid

Animated cacti that dwell in the desert canyons south of the mountains. They twitch when touched, firing spines with surprising force. Their roots lash out to wrap around prey, dragging victims toward their needled forms.

The hermit Grit identified the canyon where the party fought them as a "cactid feeding ground." The creatures shamble and attack any who disturb their territory, and their remains can be brewed into strange potions that grant lasting boons - or curses.
