Displacer Beast

Six-legged panthers with tentacles that shimmer and shift, projecting illusions of themselves that cause attacks to miss their true form. Their images double and reality refuses to hold still around them.

Encountered in the Feywild near the Great Mushroom after the party was violently expelled from transit. Three beasts emerged from shifting air, teeth bared. The battle was chaotic - arrows cut through air that wasn't where it appeared, and only after stripping away their illusions could the party land true strikes.

After two were bloodied, the remaining beasts shimmered violently and teleported into the woods, their howls fading into the vibrant Feywild forest.

The party harvested the fallen beasts with practiced reverence — tentacle, sinew, claw — nothing wasted. Displacer Beast was later served as a dish at El's fairy ring feast. Quick had three portions and resolved to hunt them again.
