The Desert
Arid lands south of the mountain pass. The party survived a brutal climb and fall into a canyon, fighting living cacti and insect swarms amid the heat.
Here they met Grit, a wind-riding hermit bound by a dark bargain with the hag Auntie Dirtha Bonebender. Grit provided strange potion-granted boons and knowledge of nearby landmarks.
The desert floor itself is dangerous to cross — Auntie Dirtha's dust elementals weave mirages that lure travelers ever further from real landmarks, and her sand crawls into folds of clothing as if guided by unseen hands. Her gaze reaches across the entire expanse from the western oasis, where her doorway into the Sunken Pyramid lies hidden beneath the water.
