Giant Crab

Wolf-sized crustaceans found along the southern coast. They scavenge on the beach and can be aggressive when disturbed. A massive variant exists—large enough to grapple and drag prey into the surf with its venomous claw.

The expedition harvested significant resources from a crab encounter: meat for the camp, shell for crafting, and venom for study.

They also nest deeper inside the southern sea caves. When the party entered to search for the Tidefang, a pair lunged from the shallows of the entrance pool — one cooked alive by Petunia's bonfire, the other sent fleeing by Gryph's whispered taunts and ground to nothing as sand spiraled up from his pouch like a drill beneath the water.
