The Alchemical Compendium
A stained, heavy volume with metal fittings of copper, iron, lead, silver, and gold — some of the fittings frozen mid-transition from one metal to another. The cover is sealed with a wax scarab. Recovered from the king's chamber in the Sunken Pyramid after the hag's defeat.
Properties (requires attunement by a wizard):
- Functions as a spellbook, containing six transmutation spells: Enlarge/Reduce, Feather Fall, Flesh to Stone, Gaseous Form, Magic Weapon, and Polymorph
- Serves as a wizard spellcasting focus while held
- 3 charges, recovering 1d3 expended charges daily at dawn
- Spend 1 charge and 1 minute studying the book to swap a prepared wizard spell with a transmutation spell from its pages
- As an action, touch a nonmagical object that is not worn or carried and expend charges to transmute it into another object — 1 charge for an object up to 1 foot per side, each additional charge extending the maximum dimensions by 2 feet. The new object's gold value cannot exceed the original's.
Kouzlo carries it.
