Aldric Vaun
Introduction
Aldric Vaun, once a respected officer in the Royal Guard, uncovered a scandal that threatened the court's stability. In response, he was exiled to the Wildermarch under the guise of a promotion. Now serving with the Noble Order of Discovery and Exploration (N.O.D.E.), Vaun bides his time, holding onto secrets that give him both power and leverage. His ultimate goal is unclear, but he quietly gathers strength and waits for the right moment to return on his own terms.
"Justice does not hurry. Nor do I. I'll wait as long as I must - then I will not hesitate."
What We've Learned
The scandal Aldric uncovered involved Lord Bryleth Valleren - a man whose crime Aldric refused to sanctify with his blade. He was cast out for refusing to execute an innocent man. He intends to return as the one who destroys the guilty.
Aldric wields Brine Justice, a blade of righteous fury, and can summon Luminor, a celestial steed that manifests with quiet inevitability - mist, warmth, the sense of a verdict being carried out. Luminor is not a weapon or a banner, but an emissary of judgment.
After being mind-controlled by an Intellect Devourer and forced to attack Jorath, Aldric experienced a vision of Tyr himself, who asked if punishment was deserved even for sins committed by one's own hand. Aldric answered "Yes," and swore the Oath of Vengeance in full: "No mercy for the wicked."
He restored Coralia's severed arm with Tyr's blessing and has begun building a library framework for Jorath as penance for past failures.
"Justice does not kneel."
