The Cult of the Whispering Stars

A widespread cult operating throughout the Wildermarch, identifiable by their star-speckled robes and star-shaped symbols with eyes at each point. They perform rituals involving necromantic crystals that transform the dead into sea spawn and birth psionic aberrations.

The Aboleth Revealed: The captured cultist Silas — under Zone of Truth and direct probing by Helena — confirmed that the cult serves an elder Aboleth, a being "older than all" that saw "everything be made." The cult's goal is the unification: bringing a cosmic "purpose" to all living things. The crystals come from a fallen star from the Aboleth's home, and the cult feeds them different inputs to coax out different abilities.

The cult symbol's five eyes each represent a different entity. Only the central eye is an Aboleth — the other four are something else entirely, and each represents a different catastrophic ending. The Aboleth can speak through charmed cultists, puppeting their flesh. It described the red stone tower as an invitation and expressed interest in recruiting the party.

Multiple Aboleths exist. The fortress houses the bulk of cult forces making final preparations. The time, Silas warned, is nigh.

The stars are watching. And the thing beneath the waves is awake.
